When TealPlay is first started, the main window appears, which resembles the following screenshot. Some variation between platforms is expected, and your choice of Qt theme will also affect the window's appearance.

Along the top of the window (or at the top of the screen on a Mac system), you will find the menu bar, which contains dropdown menus for accessing various TealPlay functions and features. Below the menu bar is the top row of visual items, which consists of the player area to the left and the playlist area to the right. Below this top row is a full-width control area that contains the various player controls. Beneath the control area is the library area, which contains the library tree and information display box.
It likely won't be convenient to watch every video in the relatively small default space reserved for the player. To make the video bigger, the playlist, controls, and library area can all be hidden using options located under the View menu. For faster toggling of these areas, you can use the P, C, and L keys to toggle on and off the playlist, controls, and library, respectively.
Since the library and playlist are likely to be used together, there is another useful shortcut. Selecting View...Switch Views from the menu, or just pressing the Esc key, will toggle between having all areas visible, having only the player area and controls visible, and displaying only the player area by itself. Using the View...Fullscreen option will display a playing video full-screen. The controls will briefly be visible when moving the mouse but will be hidden after the mouse stops moving for a few seconds.
In the Settings, accessible from Tools...Settings, you will find options for changing the default window view on the Window tab. You can select which areas are displayed when TealPlay starts, disable automatic display of the controls in fullscreen mode, and set the timeout for hiding the controls in fullscreen mode.
TealPlay is designed to be used with a combination of the mouse and keyboard, with the mouse only, or with the keyboard only. You can move around between areas and select individual buttons using the Tab key. The arrow keys can be used to navigate the library and playlist. Using only the mouse, you can access all TealPlay features from the dropdown menus and buttons on the main window.
TealPlay is highly customizable via its Settings window, which can be accessed from Tools...Settings in the menu bar. Each setting has tooltip help that will appear when hovering the mouse pointer over a given setting. These tooltips explain what each setting does, so they are not reproduced in the help documents.
