Menu Bar
The menu bar contains the File, Edit, View, and Help menus
File Menu
File → New Window
Opens a new TealFiler application Window.
File → New Folder
Creates a new folder in the current directory.
File → New File
Creates a new file in the current directory.
File → Open Terminal Here
Opens a terminal window in the current directory. See Configuration → Preferernces Dialog → Behavior to change the terminal application.
File → Properties
Opens the properties dialog for the currently selected item(s). See Using TealFiler → Dialogs → Properties for more information.
File → Close Window
Closes the TealFiler application window.
Edit Menu
Edit → Undo
Undoes the last user operation (if there is something to undo).
Edit → Redo
Redoes the last user operation (if there is something to redo).
Edit → Cut
Cuts the currently selected item(s).
Edit → Copy
Copies the currently selected item(s).
Edit → Paste
Pastes the currently copied/cut items to the current folder.
Edit → Restore Item
This action is only available if the current directory is the Trash.
Restores the currently selcted item(s) in the trash to either the original location or the user's home directory. See Configuration → Preferences Dialog → Advanced for more information.
Edit → Move To Trash
Moves the currently selected item(s) to the Trash.
Edit → Select All Files
Selects all items in the current directory
Edit → Unselect All Files
Unselects all currently selected items
Edit → Invert Selection
Selects all of the items not currently selected and unselects all of the items currently selected
Edit → Duplicate
Duplicates the selected item (this will append a number to the file name).
Edit → Rename
Opens a dialog for renaming the currently selected item.
Edit → Preferences
Opens the Preferences Dialog
View Menu
View → Reload
Reloads the contents of the current directory.
View → Show Hidden Files
Checked = show hidden files in the current directory.
Unchecked = do not show hidden files in the current directory.
View → Zoom In
Increase the font and icon size.
View → Zoom Out
Decrease the font and icon size.
View → Reset Zoom
Reset the font and icon size to the default settings.
View → Icon View
Changes the current view mode to the Icon view. See Using TealFiler → View Modes for more information.
View → List View
Changes the current view mode to the List view. See Using TealFiler → View Modes for more information.
View → Compact View
Changes the current view mode to the Compact view. See Using TealFiler → View Modes for more information.
Help Menu
Help → About
View application and version information.
Help → User Guide
Opens the User Guide dialog.
Navigation Buttons
The back button (left arrow) navigates to the previous directory.
The forward button (right arrow) navigates to the next directory (only available after using the back button).
The up button (up arrow) navigates to the parent of the current directory (not available at the root directory).
Location Bar
The text box shows the current directory and allows the user to specify a full path to navigate to that directory.
The search button searches the current directory for the search term.
Bookmarks Area
Holds the user's bookmarks (and persistent locations). See Using TealFiler → Bookmarks for more information.
Files Area
Shows the item(s) (files/folders) in the current directory. See Using TealFiler → View Modes for more information.
